Psychic medium Julia Cartagena reveals the reality of living with clairvoyance

Published on

EXCLUSIVE — All her life, Julia Cartagena has seen faces that no one else can see.

Although it sounds like a scene from a horror movie, for this psychic medium, sharing her life with spirits is something she claims to be a reality.

Cartagena told nine.com.au that despite the understandable doubts of others, she always knew there was something different about her.

“It actually started when I was a kid,” she explained.

“I started having premonitions… I had dreams. I had a specific dream where my grandfather got cut on a barbed wire fence, and the next day it actually happened.

“They’re not always that bad, but the premonitions are often about things that will happen.”

It was the sight of her dead grandparents walking past her that finally prompted her to consult a medium.

“Things really started to go well after that, when I went to see a psychic myself because I didn’t know what was going on.

“I saw them walking past me, I heard them and I also dreamed about them.”

Halfway through the interview, my computer began experiencing technical glitches I’d never seen before—a “classic” sign of spirit interference, according to believers.

Undeterred, Cartagena pressed on, admitting that while she always knew she was “different,” becoming a professional psychic was never really the plan.

The devout Catholic and proud Italian-Australian said she was once an internationally recognized baker to the stars.

“I baked cakes for everyone from Richard Branson to Kelly Clarkson,” she recalls.

However, she says everything changed when she turned 40

Overworked and overwhelmed, the Perth native was on the cusp of the biggest moment of her career when everything came crashing down.

Her breakdown and the visions of her deceased grandparents took her to a shaman in New Zealand.

“I was on the verge of a breakdown. The work was too intense, everything was full. It led me to a spiritual healer, I had to see someone,” she explained.

“[The shaman] asked me five questions about himself, personal questions about himself… he had already written down the answers on a piece of paper.

“Then he said to me, ‘Julie, you got all five questions right’ and he said, ‘Do you realize that you have the ability to be a psychic medium?’

“I just laughed at him. I literally laughed and said, ‘That’s not possible.'”

It turned out there was a way.

Cartagena began to hone her skills and decided to become a professional psychic medium to help others on their healing journey.

Now she is touring the country with two other psychics as part of their show, Two clairvoyants and a medium.

Since learning how to control her abilities, she claims that she no longer sees dead people when she just walks around, but she admits that being in public places was difficult at first.

“When it first started, I couldn’t actually turn this off,” she explained.

“I was obviously so sensitive to energy that I didn’t know what it meant or why at the time.

“I’m a bit empathetic, so I feel everything that’s going on around me and other people’s energy.

“It was very difficult for me to go to a mall, stand in line or go to a concert.

“All these things really affected me on a deeper level because I was actually picking up the energy of other people around me.”

She added that everything she does comes from a place of light and hope, and that if she had a brutal or tragic premonition about herself, she would never tell anyone.

As our conversation continued, she offered to give me a lecture.

I thought there was no better way to do investigative journalism than to experience it for yourself!

Of course I was a little skeptical, but the things she told me about my family, boyfriend and even my parents blew me away.

I really don’t know how she knew some of the details she told me about my life… they were so personal that I didn’t feel comfortable sharing them.

Ultimately, no amount of logic can explain it away; you just have to see it for yourself to decide.

Two clairvoyants and a medium tours Australia from May 14.
