Queen Mary and King Frederik have posed underneath the Eiffel Tower in Paris during a cruise along the river Seine on the final day of their historic state visit to France.
The royal couple later toured the newly-reopened Notre Dame cathedral after it was devastated by fire five years ago.
The King had said two days earlier that Danes drew “inspiration from French know-how”, referencing the building’s reconstruction and his hopes for the rebuilding of Copenhagen’s Stock Exchange, which was destroyed by fire a year ago.

The couple began their day in the city of love on Wednesday by meeting the city’s major at the Hôtel de Ville (town hall) before boarding an electric-powered boat, The Mistinguett, for a cruise along the Seine.
King Frederik and Queen Mary took in the city sights, including the iconic Eiffel Tower and posed for photographs while also hearing about Paris’ green transition in transportation, heating, cooling and electricity.
The three-day program was King Frederik and Queen Mary’s first state visit to France, with events focusing on defence, energy and health.

Later in the day the King and Queen visited the newly renovated Bibliothèque de l’Assemblée Nationale (national library) and Mary joined French First Lady Brigitte Macron on a tour of the teaching hospital, Hôpital Foch.
The King and Queen, along with President Emmanuel Macron and the First Lady, came together in the afternoon for a tour of the iconic Notre Dame cathedral.
The focus of the visit inside the cathedral was the extensive restoration that has taken place since the destructive fire in 2019.

Afterwards they said farewell to the French president and First Lady before returning to Denmark.
For Mary’s final day in France, she once again paid sartorial tribute to her French hosts by carrying a purse by Chanel and wearing a Christian Dior turquoise brooch.

Princess Isabella will turn 18 on April 21 but the party is being brought forward by just over a week because her birthday falls across the Easter weekend.
Her birthday will be marked officially on 11 and 15 April in Aarhus and Copenhagen, respectively. Isabella is likely to wear a tiara for the first time at the party at the Royal Danish Theatre, along with the Order of the Elephant.
The King and Queen will then host a lunch for Margrethe II on April 16 at Fredensbog Palace, marking the former monarch’s 85th birthday.
