Queen Mary of Denmark tiaras: The tiaras worn by Queen Mary of the Danish Royal Family and the Crown Jewels | Guide

In April, 2024, the Danish royal household shared the first official gala portraits of the King and Queen: those that now hang in Danish embassies around the world and at other places of importance.

Queen Mary wore the Danish Crown Jewels for the first time, choosing the emerald parure (or set) which, until November 2024, was the only set with a matching tiara.

The gala portrait marked the first time Mary wore the Crown Jewels, four sets of historic pieces she now has access to as Queen of Denmark following the change of throne on January 14, 2024.

The four sets of the Crown Jewels are: the brilliant-cut diamond set, the emerald set, a pearl-ruby set and a rose-cut diamond set.

The emerald set was made in 1840 by German manufacturers C.M. Weisshaupt and Sons.

The emeralds were originally a present from King Christian to his wife in 1723.

When they are not in use, the Crown Jewels are on display inside the Treasury at Rosenborg Castle in Copenhagen and are a must-see for royal fans.
