Reza Adib, partner of former Queensland premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, charged with three counts of rape

Prominent surgeon Dr. Reza Adib, the partner of former long-term employee Queensland Prime Minister Annastacia Palaszczuk has been charged with three counts of rape, two counts of deprivation of liberty and one count of sexual abuse.
Police allege Adib sexually assaulted a woman in her 30s at an address on Goodwin Terrace in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast on March 30.

Officers were seen leaving the beach unit yesterday afternoon, leaving with bags of evidence.

Adib presented himself at Southport police station earlier today where he was charged before being released on bail this afternoon.

He left the station with his lawyer and did not answer questions from the waiting press

He is due to appear at Southport Magistrates’ Court on May 14.

Police have searched a luxury beach unit owned by prominent surgeon Dr. Reza Adib from Queensland. Officers were seen coming and going from the beach unit at Burleigh Heads this afternoon, leaving with bags of evidence.

Adib is a bariatric surgeon at the Brisbane Obesity Clinic

Authorities have emphasized that Palaszczuk was not involved and that there is no evidence of any wrongdoing on her part.

The couple has been together since 2021.
