Rod Stewart’s comment to King Charles about President Donald Trump raises eyebrows

Rod Stewart‘, a ready-made comment King Charles about his recent state visit to the US raises eyebrows.

The 81-year-old crossed paths with the King, 77, at the 50th anniversary of The King’s Trust at London’s Royal Albert Hall on May 11.

Charles greeted a string of celebrities at the event, and when he reached Stewart, the rocker praised the Royal’s recent trip.

According to a now-deleted video of the Daily mail‘s Rebecca EnglishStewart told the royal family: ‘Can I just say, well done America… You were fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. You put that little rat bag in its place.”

While others around them laughed at the comment, which is believed to refer to US President Donald Trump, the king did not appear to respond to the remark.

The royal family, and especially the monarch, tend to remain politically neutral, and so Charles’ response is in line with what he has been taught to do in such situations.

Stewart was once close to Trump while they both lived in Florida.

But theForever young singer said Radio times last year that he and the president are no longer friends because of the US government’s ties and arms sales to Israel.

“How is that [Gaza] will the war ever stop?,” he noted.

“He’s always been a bit of a man. That’s why I liked him. But as far as I’m concerned, he didn’t treat women very well. But since he became president, he became a different man. Someone I didn’t know.”

Charles visited the US from April 27 to 30, in the aftermath of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting, to celebrate the bond between the US and Britain and 250 years since Britain gained independence from Britain.

The monarch was particularly praised for his historic speech during a session of Congress, which took place 35 years after that of his mother, Queen Elizabeth, in 1991.

In it he said: ‘The challenges we face are too great for any one country to bear alone. But in this unpredictable environment, our alliance cannot rely on past achievements or assume that fundamental principles will continue to hold.

“As my Prime Minister said last month: ‘Our partnership is an indispensable partnership. We must not ignore everything that has sustained us over the past 80 years. Instead, we must build on that.’ “

Trump was also impressed by the king’s speech, telling the media later that evening, “He gave a great speech. I was very jealous.”
