Royals wearing aquamarine jewels: The birthstone of March | Princess Diana, Meghan Markle, Queen Maxima and more

This diamond and aquamarine tiara was first worn by Queen Elizabeth II during a visit to Canada in 1970.

It’s provenance remains a mystery.

Many thought the tiara had been dismantled due to it being hidden away for years until Sophie, as Countess of Wessex wore it in 2012.

It was then seen again, here, in 2013, at the wedding of Princess Madeleine of Sweden on June 8, 2013 in Stockholm.

The piece is sometimes called the ‘Five Aquamarine Tiara’ and the ‘Canadian Aquamarine Tiara’.

It’s certainly the most grand of the aquamarine jewels Sophie wears – and she has worn quite a few!
