Seagull makes mess on King Charles’ jacket during visit to Northern Ireland, radio station in UK apologies after mistakenly announcing king’s death

King Charles suffered an unexpected wardrobe malfunction through no fault of his own while visiting a seaside town in Northern Ireland.

The 77-year-old encountered a crowd when a bird pooped on his jacket.

But the monarch laughed it off and refused an offer of an overcoat to cover up the stain.

“It’s fine,” the king said to a member of the crowd. “At least it didn’t land on my head!”

The monarch continued doing business, with bird droppings clearly visible on his gray jacket.

The King was in Newcastle, County Down, to highlight local projects including a community-run cinema. He continued to wear the soiled jacket when he met volunteers at The Pantry Foodbank.

He and Queen Camille are in Northern Ireland for their annual visit to the country.

During their stay there, the King and Queen will stay at Hillsborough Castle, the official residence of the Royal Family in Northern Ireland.

By the time the monarch arrived for a garden party at Hillsborough Castle, the king had put on a clean suit

Meanwhile, a radio station in Britain was forced to quickly apologize after wrongly announcing that the king had died.

A computer error caused the announcement to be made in error on Tuesday afternoon, officials at Radio Caroline in Essex said.

During the error, the broadcast said: “This is Radio Caroline. We have suspended our normal programs until further notice as a mark of formal respect following the death of His Majesty King Charles III.

“This is Radio Caroline. His Majesty King Charles III has passed away. As a mark of respect, we will now play appropriate, continuous music until further notice.

“The news media have confirmed that His Majesty King Charles III has passed away. As a sign of respect, Radio Caroline is therefore suspending its normal programs.”

Then God Save The King, the British national anthem, was broadcast

Station manager Peter Moore later wrote on Facebook: “Due to a computer error in our main studio, on Tuesday afternoon (May 19) the death of a monarch procedure, which all British stations keep ready while hoping not to need it, was accidentally triggered, incorrectly announcing that HM The King had died.”

“Radio Caroline then went silent as necessary, alerting us to restore programming and issue an apology.

“Caroline has been pleased to broadcast the Christmas message from Her Majesty The Queen, and now the King, and we hope to continue to do so for many years to come.

“We apologize to HM the King and our listeners for the distress caused.”
