The hunt continues for a child molester who escaped from authorities at Bankstown Hospital on Wednesday morning.
Authorities say Michael Angok was treated before escaping custody at Bankstown Hospital as he sprinted from his hospital bed after being transported from Villawood Immigration Detention Centre.
He’s been on the run for over 48 hours.

The 30-year-old was jailed for his role in the gang rape of a 14-year-old girl in Doonside, western Sydney, in 2014 and has spent the last nine years in the detention centre.
“We are talking about a person who raped a minor, a convicted rapist who is on the run,” said shadow home secretary Jonno Duniam.
“The Australian government must now clarify whether every risk assessment has been carried out and every protocol has been put in place.”
A resident told 9News he saw Angok run into a backyard and jump over a fence.
He hasn’t been seen since. Police are searching the neighborhood today and even a nearby school.
“He seemed rushed, he was running,” John told 9News.

‘Terrible, terrible. Everyone [who] That should result in a life sentence.”
Yesterday the AFP obtained an arrest warrant to locate Angok under Strike Force Tolquin.
Detective Chief Inspector Brett Van Akker said Angok is “well known to police” as they appeal to the public for information.
Van Akker said that while police would not comment on his criminal history, “significant police resources” are working toward his arrest.
The 30-year-old’s personal items were found on Gallipoli Road in Condell Park after his escape.

He is described as having an African appearance, being approximately 175 to 180 cm tall, of thin build and having short black hair.
He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and white crocodile sandals.
Angok previously lived in the Blacktown area and may use public transport, but police believe it is still likely he is still in the Bankstown area.
“If anyone knows the whereabouts of this person, I urge them to come forward and contact police through Crime Stoppers or Triple-Zero,” Van Akker said.
As the search continues, anyone who sees Angok is urged not to approach him but to contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.
