Ship traffic crawls through the Strait of Hormuz; World economy continues to react to tentative ceasefire; Trump threatens Iran

While Donald Trump makes veiled threats against Iran, negotiations will begin without him.

Vice President JD Vance is on his way to Pakistan for peace talks, while the Iranian delegation has already arrived.

As Vance heads to the rally, Trump has spoken harshly about Truth Social.

“The Iranians don’t seem to realize that they have no other cards than short-term extortion of the world by using international waterways,” he said.

“The only reason they are alive today is to negotiate.”

While it may seem unusual that the president has delegated this task, it is not unusual for world leaders to entrust others to peace negotiations.

But Iran’s leaders will undoubtedly be wary of the US. The war started while talks were taking place between the two countries in February.
