There’s not much in this world that’s cuter than a kitten.
Then they grow up and while they’re still adorable, cat owners will often find themselves reminiscing on when they were heart-meltingly tiny… and their couches were still in good condition.
But there are some cat breeds that remain adorably small, even when they reach adult size. If you can handle the cuteness, read on to learn more about some of the smallest cat breeds that exist.

Singapura
The Singapura is considered the smallest cat breed in the world.
Similar in appearance to the Burmese, this breed is known for its large eyes and ears, ticked coat and blunt tail.

The size of this tiny breed doesn’t tend to exceed 30 centimeters. Despite their small stature, they have a relatively muscular build making them surprisingly heavy. The tend to weigh in between two and four kilograms.
As the name suggests, the breed originated in Singapore and while they are a rare breed they can be found in Australia at certain reputable breeders.

This breed, which originated in Burma, is a small cat known for its glossy coat with a satin-like finish.
These cats tend to weigh between four and six kilograms and reach an overall height of 25 to 30 centimeters.
Munchkin
The Munchkin cat is adorably small and known for its very short legs.
The tiny breed first appeared in the 1980s in Louisiana and is a result of a genetic mutation that causes shortened legs.

They tend to stand between 15 and 23 centimeters tall and weigh between two and four kilograms.
The name Munchkin was coined in reference to the small-statured characters in the famous movie The Wizard of Oz.
American Curl
The American Curl is a friendly, people-oriented breed that is known to keep its kitten-like personality throughout life.

As the name suggests, these cats have distinctive curled ears. They are also known for their silky, flat coat.
They tend to reach 20 to 30 centimeters tall and weigh between two and five kilograms.
Kinkalow
This breed is known to be a cross between a Munchkin and American Curl. They are known for their short legs and curled ears.
They tend to reach between 18 and 20 centimeters tall and weigh between two and 4 kilograms.

Cornish Rex
The Cornish Rex is another adorably small cat breed. This breed has a small, narrow head with large ears and eyes that stand out against the cat’s small stature.

The breed has an interesting coat which is curly, silky and soft and appears similar to velvet and, as per the name, it is believed to have originated in Cornwall, England.
The Cornish Rex may be small but it is mighty, boasting impressive agility and energy levels. This breed loves to jump, run and play.

Bambino
This one may not be for everyone as hairless cats are known to divide opinion, but there’s no denying this breed is tiny.
The Bambino is a small hairless cat believed to be a cross between the Munchkin and the Sphynx. It has the same short legs the Munchkin is famous for and the same hairless body as the Sphynx.

This breed tends to grow to about 43 centimeters long and tends weighs in between two and four kilograms.

Alongside their size and hairless skin, Bambino cats are known to be super smart and very social.
They are also very cuddly and affectionate cats and given their lack of fur they will often be found snuggling up in a blanket to stay warm.

The Siamese cat is another well-loved small breed. It is one of several varieties native to Thailand and is known for its distinctive coat with pale colours and darker shaded fur on the face, ears, legs and tail.
These cats typically stand between 20 and 25 centimeters and tend to weigh between three and five kilograms.
