Teens arrested after allegedly stolen SUV crashes in Sydney

Two teenagers have been arrested after a dramatic police chase through Sydney’s east ended with a stolen car ending up in a quiet cul-de-sac.

Shortly before 3am, police were patrolling Rainbow Street in Kingsford when they tried to stop a black SUV.

The SUV failed to stop, prompting a pursuit.

The chase continued through numerous residential streets in Coogee, police said, before the SUV crashed into trees at the end of Edgecumbe Avenue.

Two teenage boys, both 15, were arrested nearby and taken into custody.

Police believe the SUV was stolen from a home in South Coogee last Friday, April 24.

It has been seized by the police for forensic examination.
