Easter this year was already going to be a stretch for most budgets with the ongoing cost of living crisis, but the spike in chocolate prices has made it tougher to celebrate.
Much of the increasing cost of chocolate has to do with the global cocoa shortage and increasing supply chain and production costs.
But as we inch closer to Easter Sunday retailers are starting to put their Easter eggs and bunnies on sale, including The Reject Shop which has announced a price drop.

When asked by 9honey about higher chocolate prices this year Cadbury shared this statement.
“A worldwide cocoa shortage has caused cocoa prices to reach unprecedented levels, quadrupling since 2022,” they confirmed.
“At the same time, rising input costs across the supply chain have increased the overall cost of chocolate production and food manufacturing as a whole, as highlighted by recent research into grocery prices.”
