The Reject Shop finds: The $19 Reject Shop buy a professional organiser always uses to store the messiest toys

Professional orgaiser Belle Harte knows there are three toys in particular that people have trouble organising and keeping tidy.

But she has found a solution for these popular, yet small and awkward-shaped toys that is tried and tested in her clients’ homes as well as her own.

The Organised Abode Co founder’s top pick for those notoriously tricky items is The Reject Shop‘s $19 underbed storer with four compartments.

“[It’s] really good if you’re tight on space [and] really great for kids’ toys,” she tells 9honey Living.

“These are the three most common toys that people have trouble with and it’s Barbies, Lego and Hot Wheels. These compartment containers are really good for all of those because you can take out the dividers or leave them in and they go under beds, so it’s out of sight, out of mind and you can just roll them out.

“I love [them], I use those a lot.”

Harte’s other favourite The Reject Shop storage buys are both mainly used in the pantry.

The first is a clear container for storing food and is part of the store’s Supa Clear range.

While the Melbourne mum’s go-to is the 4.5L container, which is $14, there are three other sizes in that style; 1.5L for $7.50, the 2.5L for $10 and the 3.5L for $12.

“[It’s] one that I absolutely love and I’ve started using it for a lot of my pantries where clients want their cereal decanted… So it’s basically like a cereal dispenser but it looks really similar to the really expensive Oxo brand and it’s really airtight and it’s like half the price,” she says.

“It’s the 4.5L in particular that I like using for cereal and they’re really good for kids too because they’ve got a really easy clip to open it and pour out your cereal and Oxo sell the same one for over $30 so it’s really great.”

Rounding out Harte’s top three from the budget retailer is a plastic storage basket that you can use in multiple rooms but works particularly well in the pantry.

“Kmart have a similar one but the [version from] The Reject Shop, in my opinion, it’s just that little bit more elite, it’s just got a bit of a classier look to it and it’s called the Corrie basket with a lid,” she says.

Harte’s favourite Corrie basket is the 17.5L for $10, but you can also get a 5.5L for $5 and a 12.5L for $8. All three sizes come in grey and white colours.

“If you’ve got more of an upmarket pantry I’ll be using it for… your back stock ( for example, bulk buys), kids snacks, baking supplies and things like that.

“There are a lot of different things that would do the same job, but I think [the Corrie basket], you pop a label on it and it looks like a really expensive tub when it’s only $10 which is nice, especially when you’re having to buy multiples of these things.”
