Thieves ram ute into shopping centre, steal ATM in wild CCTV footage

Cameras have captured the moment thieves rammed through the doors of a shopping center in the dead of night and stole a cash machine.

The incident took place on March 19 at a shopping center in Baldivis, south of Perth.

CCTV footage shows a blue Nissan car reversing through the centre’s glass doors into an empty corridor at around 2am.

The vehicle then continues to reverse and hits an ATM which falls to the ground.

We see two masked trespassers enter the building through the broken doors and make their way to the back of the hallway.

Another perpetrator is visible in the driver’s seat of the ute.

The vehicle is then seen driving out of the mall with a chain attached to the ATM and dragging it behind the store.

Police found the vehicle burned out three days later, on March 21.

It was located in East Rockingham, about a 15-minute drive from the shopping center on Amazon Drive where the incident occurred.

Detectives are now appealing for anyone who has CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage of the vehicle or other information about the incident to come forward.
