Tourist fighting for life following accident at popular Australian holiday spot

Emergency services responded to calls that a woman had fallen from a bicycle on Digby Drive in the Thompson Bay area of ​​Rottnest Island around 5pm on Tuesday.

They found a 38-year-old woman with life-threatening head injuries after the first fall.

It is understood the woman had a helmet with her, but it is unclear whether she was wearing it at the time.

The 38-year-old, who is from abroad but lives in Melbourne, had traveled to the island with her partner.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation.
