9News Perth presenter Tracy Vo has shared some heartwarming news, just months after she and husband Liam Connolly suffered a devastating loss.
The couple have announced they are expecting their rainbow baby, a girl, due on October 7.
Vo, 41, spoke exclusively to 9honey ahead of sharing the news on Instagram.

She tells 9honey they are “very excited for the next chapter” although admits it does feel “surreal” after losing their son James when Vo was five months pregnant in 2024.
“I think as the months go on it becomes more real and a step closer to having our little girl in our arms,” she tells 9honey.

“So we’re just counting down those weeks,” Vo continued, reflecting on how their first pregnancy experience began with so much joy and then “turned into the worst experience that we could ever imagine.”
“But I think for this one, because of what happened… we’ve described it as being cautiously excited,” she says.
While pregnancies are traditionally shared at the 12-week mark, Vo and Connolly waited until 21 weeks, only telling close family the happy news.
”I’m not saying that we’re completely out of the woods and we’re not – and again, we’re realistic about it – but all we can do is hope that everything is all smooth from here, and keep positive, right?” she says.

Vo says they knew they wanted to try again following the loss of their son, taking time to feel “physically and mentally right” before proceeding with their family plans.
”For us it was more like we just wanted to still grow our family,” she says. “So I think that was sort of our priority. And this time around, obviously there is anxiety there.
“We feel like James is almost looking after her a little bit.”
Vo says navigating profound grief and healing together has made her marriage “more solid”.
”And obviously it was a challenge,” she says.

“I think last year was so traumatic and we were navigating grief and trauma together, which obviously you would never wish upon anyone to go through that sort of scenario.
“I’m very grateful that Liam was a huge support. But we had also a great support network as well, our family, our friends.”
The couple waited a little longer to share the news with Connolly’s six-year-old daughter Sophia, Vo’s stepdaughter and soon-to-be big sister.

”We told her by handing her a little teddy that said, ‘It’s a girl!’ And I think with my belly growing a bit more it’s becoming more real for her,” Vo says.
Of her pregnancy cravings, Vo, who normally doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth, is suddenly craving “cookies and ice cream”.

”And then oranges. I’m just loving oranges. I could just eat oranges all day,” she adds.
Vo hopes sharing their news will give hope to others.
After sharing their pregnancy loss, Vo received messages from others who had been through the same.
“Hopefully it just spreads the hope and the love for people out there,” she says.
