Two critical after five-car crash on Melbourne freeway

The cars collided near the Stud Road exit shortly after 2pm.

Five people were taken to hospital, including an adult and a boy from one vehicle who are in critical condition.

The boy was rushed to the Royal Children’s Hospital and the woman, in her 40s, to The Alfred.

Both have injuries to their upper bodies.

All outbound lanes and one inbound lane of the Monash Freeway are closed.

The police are investigating
