Unclaimed prosthetic leg found on NSW beach as police search for owner

A prosthetic leg washed up on a NSW Mid North Coast beach remains unclaimed and police are working to track down its owner.

Jess White said she and her fiancé, Chris, came across the branch while fishing near Scotts Head on Sunday afternoon.

They found the track about four kilometers from the 4WD access point, where the receding tide exposed it.

“There were a few barnacles on it, but because we’re not experts we can’t say how long it’s been there.”

White immediately contacted police after finding it and followed their advice to turn it in.

Shortly afterwards, the find attracted attention online when she shared it in a local community group.

“After I spoke to the police, I posted it on the local Facebook page and it blew up from there.”
