US, Israel, Iran war LIVE updates: A tentative agreement has been reached between the US and Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz

US Vice President JD Vance said it is “TBD” (yet to be determined) whether Donald Trump will sign a tentative memorandum of understanding with Iran, and that the two countries are still negotiating “a few language points.”

“I think it’s difficult to say exactly when or if the president will sign the MOU. We’re going back and forth on some language issues,” Vance told reporters on the tarmac of Joint Base Andrews, near Washington DC.

While emphasizing that progress has been made, Vance said there are some key points in Iran’s nuclear program and enriched uranium that are still in flux.

“There are some issues around nuclear power, the highly enriched stockpile, and also the enrichment issue. So we’re going back and forth with them. We think, at least so far, they’re negotiating in good faith,” Vance said.

“Hopefully we will continue to make progress, the president will be in a position where he can endorse the agreement, but obviously that is not known yet.”
