WA Police are investigating an incident on a Perth train where an off-duty officer restrained a 13-year-old girl.

The train’s CCTV footage is being reviewed, which WA Police say is part of a standard process.

The Public Transport Authority camera footage is being kept secret for the time being, but a vision recorded by the girl’s friend is circulating on social media.

The phone footage shows the off-duty officer pinning the 13-year-old to the ground before pushing her into a chair on the Yanchep Line at around 4pm on Sunday.

In the footage, the girl’s friends can be heard shouting “her head, her head” after the officer appears to pin the girl down at one point.

Police today said the 13-year-old allegedly attacked the officer by punching him in the face after intervening in a verbal altercation between two groups.
