Bachelor stars Locky Gilbert and Irena Srbinovska reveal ‘the biggest scare’ of their life when daughter went ‘missing’

Former Bachelor stars Locky Gilbert and Irena Srbinovska had one of the ‘biggest fears’ of their lives when they thought their toddler daughter had disappeared.

The couple, who met on the dating show and married in Melbourne in 2023, recalled what happened in a video shared on Gilbert’s official Instagram page.

It was undoubtedly every parent’s worst nightmare: the pair were moving cars at their home and after going back inside, they couldn’t find two-year-old Ava in her bedroom – and things got so intense they called the police.

Both appeared visibly shaken as Gilbert told viewers: “So Irena and I probably had… the biggest fear of my life, I’ve never been so scared.

“Ava was in her bed and we went out to swap cars… and came back to check the baby monitor… [she’s] not there. Go look in the room, not there, look everywhere, not there.

“We thought she might have escaped out the front. I start running up and down the street and calling Ava, and come back to the house.”

Srbinovska intervened, looking angry and nervous: “I searched the whole house.”

Gilbert added that they finally found the toddler behind a curtain.

“That was after I called the police,” Srbinovska said.

“It all took about two and a half, three minutes. But that was the scariest three minutes of my life,” Gilbert added, saying Ava is now old enough to know how to open doors.

The couple met in season eight of The bachelor, in 2020, three years later we got married and called it “the happiest day of our lives”.

They welcomed Ava Aleksandra in February 2024.

When they announced their pregnancy, they shared a message with others about their fertility journey.

“️While we enjoy our good fortune, we are deeply sensitive to those who face the trials of infertility or who have suffered loss.

“After going through the roller coaster of emotions ourselves, we extend our hands and hearts to those who are on a similar path. Amid the storms of life, may you soon find your rainbow,” they wrote.

In an older video, Locky talked about being a father and husband, sweetly writing in the caption, “I love being a girl dad because she’s basically a mini version of my wife, and it’s like I’m falling in love with her all over again.”
