“I was very disappointed for her because I was there for so long and only received such a small thing,” he told nine.com.au.
“I know we should never expect too much, especially from such a large organization, but it’s the little things that make people feel valued in the workplace.”
In the clip Nick posted to TikTok, he said the pin was a message to Australian workers that we are “all just numbers in the system”.

People expressed frustration and outrage in the comments section, with some calling the pin an “insult” to Nick’s mother’s services.
Nine.com.au understands that Commonwealth Bank will provide employees who reach certain milestones in their employment with a clothing pin indicating the length of their employment.
The pin can be worn at work.
“While we cannot comment on the individual circumstances of current or former employees, we do have a long-standing service recognition program designed to celebrate and reward the tenure of our people,” a CBA spokesperson told nine.com.au.
