Police are reminding bushwalkers to be prepared after an elderly woman braved a near-freezing night in the south-west of Western Australia.

The 87-year-old rationed a packet of raisins until she was located.

The alarm was raised on Friday when she failed to return from a bushwalk near the Donnelly River Village area, about 280 kilometers south of Perth.
