Kmart Lego sets: Kmart now sells official lego sets with a major discount

Everyone has a hobby. Some people like to read books, some like to play sports, and some like to find the weirdest and craziest thing they can get into for purely entertainment purposes.

However, I have a simple hobby. I like to sit in front of the TV with a good movie on and build a Lego set.

It’s not a difficult hobby, and it’s easy enough to get into; the only barrier I constantly encounter are the costs – until recently.

Just a 10 minute walk from my house is a shopping center with a Lego store where I can check out the latest additions to the 18+ Lego Botanicals range.

But it got to the point where I simply couldn’t justify spending about $100 a week on a Lego set that I would finish before the movie was over.

As beautiful as the Lego bouquets and plants decorating my house look, it just wasn’t worth the cost anymore.

That’s why I had to stop my hobby. I limit myself to one new Lego set per month.

That was until I realized there was a cheaper alternative.

One day, while strolling through Kmart, I noticed a shelf at the edge of the toy department filled with Lego. And no fake Lego dupes, I’m talking real Lego from the right brand.

At first I only saw the sets intended for a lower age range (as a 26-year-old woman I have too much dignity to buy Lego without the 18+ label on it), but along the bottom shelves I saw several sets I already owned, plus a few I already had my eye on.

I saw a set I had spent $99.99 on two weeks earlier now available at Kmart for just $78.

A $20 savings on every Lego set I buy equates to hundreds of dollars saved in a year. (included)

So I looked at the available options and compared them to the prices online at the Lego store on my phone, and imagine my shock and joy when I realized that all the sets I had wanted to buy were about $20 cheaper at Kmart.

There wasn’t a huge selection in the store, but when I got home and looked online, Kmart had almost every Lego set I had hoped to buy, and they were clearly much cheaper.

And it turns out it’s not just Kmart! After some online research, I discovered that other budget retailers such as Big W and Amazon also sell Lego for the same, discounted price.

You can even get your hands on some of the larger sets that will cost you around $249.99 at the Lego store for just $199.

It may not seem like a huge discount. And I don’t agree that it’s still quite a price to pay for a few bags of plastic bricks and a manual. I have to admit that if you buy the amount of Lego that I do, the discount really adds up.
