Meghan Markle news: Duchess samples beer during an appearance on YouTube show Get Down with Sean and Marley

The non-royal royal tour of Australia by Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussexmay be over, but it still manages to make headlines.

Despite leaving Australia more than two weeks ago, a new video of Meghan on the trip was released overnight Duchess in a new light.

Meghan, 44, managed to gain an audience from YouTube and social media stars Sean and Marley when she agreed to sample an iconic Aussie beer.

The duo, who each have Down syndrome, have over a million followers on YouTube and Instagram, where they enjoy cooking together.

But the latest video is going viral, thanks to their light-hearted relationship with the Duchess, who is known for her own lifestyle show on Netflix.

It’s one of her many hats, and now she can add “Aussie beer connoisseur” to her bio after tasting both Toohey’s New and Victoria Bitter.

“Welcome to Australia, Meghan,” the hosts began.

After telling Meghan they had a surprise for her, they pulled out a can of Toohey’s New.

The Duchess admitted she had never had the specific brand before offering to sample the ‘classic Australian pour’ – despite noting it wasn’t cold.

“That’s good,” she said. “Now you’ve created a whole date night for us.”

After setting the can down, she turned around to see another beer waiting for her: a VB.

After asking if this was their favorite, she said she “would have to try this one too.”

“Victoria Bitter, okay,” she said before taking a sip.

“Very tasty too. This one is a little lighter. I like them both.”

A small clip from the YouTube video was uploaded to their Instagram account and Meghan proved to be a hit with their fans.

“Good for Megs for being a good sport,” one wrote, while someone else called the Duchess the “sweetest woman on earth”.

Sean and Marley also uploaded a photo with the Duchess in a separate Instagram post.

“We had a great time meeting @meghan and shooting a video with her when she visited Australia,” they wrote.

‘We gave her eight special gifts that represented Australian life and she loved them all!

“Many thanks to Meghan and her team for helping to make this possible and for taking time out of their busy schedule to film with us!”

The gift voucher contained a number of cuddly toys from the popular TV show Bluishwhich the Duchess said her children love, a pair of Minties, which Meghan said is both her and her mother’s favorite sweet treat, Rabbitohs and Panthers jerseys in children’s sizes, a can of chicken salt and sunscreen.

But perhaps the biggest hit was the Aussie Bum swimsuit she got as a gift for Prince Harry.

After correctly recalling that swim trunks were colloquially known as “parakeet smugglers”, the Duchess joked that Harry might wear them when they renewed their wedding vows.

The YouTube video featuring the boys was filmed during Prince Harry and Meghan’s whirlwind trip to Australia in April.

They spent time in Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney during the trip, with a mix of charity events, an appearance on MasterChef and more over the four days.
